Families at the Berkeley Presbyterian Mission Homes gathered on Saturday of Labor Day weekend for their annual kick-off event, “the Ice Cream Social” where residents eat ice cream sundaes and meet the new families who have joined the community over the summer. The Ice Cream Social on Labor Day weekend is the last summer event before the GTU fall semester classes begin. The more relaxed atmosphere of the summer will be replaced by the rigor and focus of challenging academic pursuits. In the evening, the fall Town Meeting was held where decisions and issues that affect the whole community were discussed. Follow up to those issues will begin with a report to the Board of Directors at their next meeting on September 20th.
