Myoung was born and raised in Germany as a child of Korean immigrants. He studied engineering in Germany but my dream was to serve God with all his heart in any capacity that God would call him into. So after three years of working for a Software developing company as a project manager, he felt God's calling to attend seminary in Korea. There, he earned his M.Div. and Th.M. (Reformation history) while also serving the English Ministry at Wolgwang Presbyterian Church in Gwangju, Korea. His next phase would take him to Berkeley, CA, where he continued my studies in Theology with a focus on Imago Dei in the Face of Climate Change. He graduated from GTU in 2021, which meant that he had earned degrees on three continents in three languages.
In Korea, Myoung met his wife Anna who is also a current GTU student (OT). Together they are happy parents of David-Roi and Daniel-Leo who are the joy of their lives. Myoung is the Executive Director at the BPMH, serving the BPMH community by working closely with the board. Myoung enjoys Volleyball, traveling, and eating good food while enjoying fellowship.
What does BPMH mean to you?
I was blessed to join the BPMH community at a time when Anna and I had nowhere to go. Rev. Sally Juarez, the Executive Director at that time, allowed us to stay in the guest house until a cottage became available. Since day one, BPMH has been a tremendous blessing and such a wonderful place to live. The board, the residents, and the supporters of BPMH have made an impact in all our lives.
Dreams & Vision for BPMH
My dream for BPMH is to continue to offer a safe place for families and to raise faith leaders who make a positive impact on this world.
Hopefully, we can help to bring people together by faith and promote peace in this world.
Motto/Words of Encouragement
As long as we do our best, there is nothing to regret. Sometimes, results take their time and sometimes, it is the next generation who benefits from our actions. It is our homework to leave this world in a better shape than we found it.
